Southern Alliance Spay Neuter is a nonprofit organization providing high quality low cost spay neuter surgeries for cats and dogs in our community and surrounding area. We employ an experienced licensed veterinarian and veterinary assistants. We have performed more than 22,000 surgeries since opening in 2013. Your pet’s health is important to us and while they are here, they will be treated like one of our own.

When to Spay Neuter Your Pet?

For cats: It is considered safe to spay neuter healthy kittens at three months or three pounds. Female cats can have their first heat cycle as early as four months and produce a litter by six months old. To potentially avoid the start of urine spraying and eliminate the chance for pregnancy, it’s advisable to schedule the surgery before your cat reaches five months of age. It’s possible to spay a female cat while she’s in heat.

For dogs: Healthy puppies as young as 3 months old can be spayed/neutered. Adult dogs can be neutered as well, although there’s a slightly higher risk of post-operative complications in older dogs, dogs that are overweight or dogs that have health problems. We require dogs older than 6 years have a pre-anesthesia blood panel screening which can be obtained at your pet’s veterinary office.
